Rachel Pier pleads guilty to assault by auto
Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an indictment before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on August 20, 2018, by Rachel Pier.
Pier, age 39 of Sussex, pled guilty to Assault by Auto, a fourth degree crime, and Driving While Intoxicated (second offense), a motor vehicle offense. Sentencing is presently anticipated for October 5, 2018.
On October 20, 2017, the defendant caused a motor vehicle accident in Vernon Township. In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to driving a vehicle recklessly while intoxicated (second offense) and to injuring an individual.
The case was investigated by Sergeant Kenneth Kuzicki of the Vernon Township Police Department.
Pier was represented by David Nufrio, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Rachelle Jones.
