Robert R. Benson

Robert R. Benson, 82, died Sunday August 12, 2018 at Milford Manor Nursing Home in West Milford. Mr. Benson, son of the late Alfred and Claire (Weiss) Benson was born in Newark May 25, 1936. He has been a resident of Hamburg for the last 20 years.
Mr. Benson graduated from Trenton State College (College of NJ) with a Master’s Degree. He was an Industrial Arts Teacher at Central Regional Middle School in Bayville and later retired from the school as Vice Principal. Mr. Benson was a parishioner of St. Jude The Apostle RC Church in Hamburg and was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Benson was a ham radio operator and a member of the East Coast Amateur Radio Club. He also enjoyed sailing.
Mr. Benson is survived by his Wife Christine Benson, children; Sheri Bacchetta of Lanoka Harbor, Tammy Romano of Maplewood, Michael Benson of Manasquan and Douglas Benson of Waxhaw, NC, brother & sister; Thomas Benson of Toms River and Nancy Nason of Playa Del Ray, Calif. as well as 9 grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018 at noon at St. Jude The Apostle RC Church 4-24 Beaver Run Road Hamburg.
