Westys gymnasts competed at the 2018 USAIGC Regional Championships against gymnasts from all over New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania this past Memorial Day Weekend.

Three Team Westys members put up the top scores in their divisons, earning them 2018 champion titles.

Chelsea Smith, age 9, from Hardyston, started off Regionals weekend for Team Westys, earning the highest score on uneven bars and the first 9.0 score to be given on bars all day. Her nearly flawless bar routine won her first place, and awarded her the title of “9 Year Old Bronze Level Uneven Bar Regional Champion”! Chelsea also placed 9th on balance beam with a score of 8.55, and placed 7th all around with a score of 34.225.

Lexi Ingoglia, age 10, from Lake Hopatcong was next to bring home two Regional titles for Team Westys. Lexi’s uneven bar score of 8.15 earned her first place in her division and the title, “10 Year Old Silver Level Uneven Bar Regional Champion”! She also placed in the top five athletes on vault, with a score of 8.4 earning her 5th place, and placed in the top three on balance beam and floor exercise, placing 3rd in both events, both with a score of 9.0, making Lexi’s all around score a 34.550, and earning her ANOTHER Regional title, “10 Year Old Silver Level All Around Regional Champion”!

Olivia Fisher, age 9, from Hardyston brought home the final two regional titles of the weekend for Team Westys. Her first place vault score of 8.95 earned Olivia her first Regional title of the day, making her the “9 Year Old Gold Level Vault Champion”! She then went on to earn A second regional title, with her 9.0 Floor exercise score earning her another first place and another title, “9 Year old Gold Level Floor Exercise Regional Champion”!

It is a huge accomplishment for any gym to be home to one Regional Champion, and last season Westys Gymnastics did the unheard of, bringing home three regional champion titles. This season Team Westys coaches were blown away by their gymnasts earning a record breaking FIVE Regional Champion titles. Westys Gymnastics is so incredibly proud of Chelsea, Lexi and Olivia for all of the hard work they put in, and obstacles they have overcome during the season to earn them these titles.

Up next for these Westys gymnasts, Chelsea, Lexi, and Olivia along with their teammates will be traveling to Orlando Florida at the end of the month, to take on the USAIGC World Championship, to compete against the best of the best, gymnasts from all over the world.

Westys Gymnastics, located in Hardyston NJ, is now holding team tryout evaluations for the upcoming season.
