Drivers see gas prices in New Jersey dip a bit

TRENTON, N.J.— Drivers in New Jersey are seeing prices at the pump dip a bit further, but they remain much higher than last year.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in New Jersey on Friday was $2.89, down a penny from last week. Motorists were paying $2.35 for gas in New Jersey at this time last year.
The national average gas price Friday was $2.86 a gallon, up a penny from last week. The national average a year ago was $2.29 a gallon.
Analysts say gas prices have dropped in most mid-Atlantic states to the lowest level since Memorial Day, and while prices have fluctuated over the past month they could stabilize if crude oil demand and supply stay consistent.
