ZDC shines at competition

MCAFEE — Ziegler Dance Centre’s Z Dance Troupe recently attended On Stage America Nationals in Cape May Court,
The troupe brought back 10 Diamonds (3 points from a perfect score), 61 High Platinums and 3 Platinums. 52 of the dances were awarded Overalls in the top ten in their divisions.
A few highlights from the week include studio excellence in hip hop as well as the ADCC studio of excellence award. The ADCC award is given to a dance studio that displays and promotes quality, integrity, and opportunity within the dance industry. Renee Ziegler Schmidt was awarded the Best Choreography award in the Petite division for jazz dance “That’s How We Do”.
Petite Intermediate DivisionHip Hop Large Group “Kid’s Party” won 1st overall.
Petite Advance Division Brooklyn Sybesma won second Overall for her jazz solo “Diamonds.” Kyleigh Doyle won Petite Miss On Stage America for her lyrical solo, “There’s a Place for Us”. Ballet Duet “God Help the Outcast” performed by Abigail Pisciottano and Molly Sokolewicz won 2nd Overall. Jazz Trio “Girlz” performed by Kyleigh Doyle, Ava Pecoraro and Brooklynn Sybesma won 1st Overall. Small group jazz “That’s How We Do” won 1st Overall. Large Group hip hop “Ghostbusters” won 1st Overall and Most Entertaining for the 12 and under age division.
Junior Advance Solo DivisionAva Berner won 8th Overall for her jazz “Circus” and 3rd Runner up Junior Miss OSA. Natalia Arroyo won 4th Overall for her jazz “Sax” as well as OSA scholarship winner for hip hop. Makayla Snyder won 2nd Overall for her jazz “Emergency” and 2nd Runner up Junior Miss OSA. Mason Shirhall won Junior Mr. On Stage America for his hip hop “Pure Grinding” Acro/Open Duet “Guardians at the Gate” performed by Arabella DeJager and Kyleigh Doyle won 4th Overall. Jazz Trio “Americano” performed by Ava Berner, Makayla Snyder and Sophia VanLeuven won 3rd Overall Lyrical Duet “How to Save A Life” performed by Natalia Arroyo and Sydney Bosma won 1st Overall. Small Group Acro “Ricochet” won 1st Overall Large Group lyrical “Snowflakes” won 1st Overall Line Lyrical “Warrior” won 1st Overall and 1st Runner up for 12 and under Challenge of Champions.
Teen Advance Solo Division:Reese Decker won 5th Overall for his open “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back” and Teen Mr. On Stage America Sydney Hill won 9th Overall for her musical theatre “Snuff Out the Light.” Kaya Gorski won 8th Overall for her lyrical “How Will I Know.” Kayla Wallace won 6th Overall for her jazz “Fever”. Sydney Bosma won 3rd Overall for her lyrical “Undone”. Hip Hop Duet “Tricky Two” performed by Joanne Baez and Langdon Frey won 3rd Overall.
Lyrical Duet “Mirror” performed by Kaya Gorski and Rianna Ziegler won 2nd Overall. Large Group musical theatre “The Jam” won 2nd Overall and 1st Runner up for 13 and over Challenge of Champions.
Senior Advance Solo DivisionChristine Papa won 9th Overall for her lyrical “As Long As You Loved Me”. Alexa Perrotta won 7th Overall for her lyrical “Gravity”. Chassidy Pappas won 6th Overall for her tap “Sweet Dreams”. Small Group musical theatre “Money” won 1st Overall Large Group lyrical, “To People Who Love to Dance” won 1st Overall.
