Join the Jefferson Arts Committee for a bus trip on Wednesday, Oct. 17 to the Al Hirschfeld Theater in New York City for the 2 p.m. matinee performance of the Broadway musical sensation Kinky Boots.
Tickets are $128.50 per person which include round-trip motor coach transportation and driver gratuity departing the parking lot of St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, 5635 Berkshire Valley Road in Oak Ridge promptly at 10 a.m. and reserved Center Orchestra I seats (Rows O, P, Q, and R) for the 2 p.m. matinee performance.
The show revolves around Charlie, a factory owner struggling to save his family business, and Lola, a fabulous entertainer with a wildly exciting idea. With a little compassion and a lot of understanding, this unexpected pair learns to embrace their differences and creates a line of sturdy stilettos unlike any the world has ever seen. But in the end, their most sensational achievement is their friendship. Featuring 16 original songs by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony-winning theater legend Harvey Fierstein, and direction and choreography by Tony winner Jerry Mitchell, this joyous sensation “struts its stuff with sparkles, stilettos, and heart!” Kinky Boots is Broadway’s “dazzling, sassy, and uplifting” experience.
