Center to host Narcan training

TRENTON — The Center for Prevention and Counseling’s Recovery Community Center in Newton will be hosting a free Narcan training on Thursday, July 21, open to all community members.
Opioid overdoses are preventable and knowing the facts about drugs and the signs and symptoms of overdoses can equip you with the ability to save a life. These trainings also help provide education and increase awareness of the issues surrounding substance use disorders while highlighting resources for recovery. Free Narcan kits will be distributed at this training and pre-registration is required.

Knowing how to respond to an overdose before emergency services arrives may very well give an individual the lifesaving chance they need to recover. This Opioid Overdose Prevention Program is made possible through funding from the New Jersey Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services and Morris County Prevention Is Key, Inc.
