4-H seeking host families

| 15 Jun 2018 | 02:48

New Jersey 4-H will host 12 Japanese youth and one adult chaperone for the 2018 Japan Exchange taking place July 22-Aug. 17.
Families across New Jersey are invited experience the richness of the world without even leaving home.
Each summer, New Jersey 4-H sponsors 10-14 Japanese youth ages 12-16 who come to the Garden State for one month. These eager Japanese youth want to experience American culture, make new friends, and improve their English by staying with host families.
One Japanese student will be matched per family based on the host sibling’s gender, age, and interests.
The expectations for families hosting young people include:
Having youth the same gender and same age (+/- two years) and as the Japanese delegate.
Being able to provide a separate bed and three meals a day • Having enthusiasm for learning about other cultures
There is no need to plan special activities for the delegate • Hosting families do not need to be involved in 4-H to host
