Gottheimer honors district Eagle Scouts, families

WEST MILFORD — U.S. Rep. Josh Gottheimer brought together this year's Eagle Scouts and their families from across Bergen, Passaic, Sussex, and Warren County for his inaugural Fifth District Eagle Scout Honor Ceremony Breakfast.
At the West Milford Presbyterian Church, home to West Milford Boy Scout Troop 44, Gottheimer congratulated the young leaders for becoming Eagle Scouts, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scout program, and thanked them for all they’ve done and continue to do to better their community and country.
“It was an honor to get the chance to recognize this year’s Eagle Scouts from across Bergen, Passaic, Sussex, and Warren County, as well as the parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, neighbors, and friends who got them here today,” Gottheimer said. “In becoming an Eagle Scout, these young men join the ranks of some of our nation’s greatest leaders, who, before they shaped the world we live in today, were shaped by their Eagle Scout experience. Every single Scout has worked hard to better life for those around him, whether that was through building park benches at the Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, helping landscape the grounds at the Independence Township Fire Department, refurbishing a storage shed at the Church of the Guardian Angel in Allendale, or helping maintain Atkins Glen Park in Park Ridge. I am so proud to stand by these dedicated young leaders, and I look forward to being their partner and resource as they continue to work to move our country forward.”
