Michael Anthony Payton

Michael Anthony Payton, 68 years old, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, May 31, 2018. Born to Francis and Theresa Payton in Scranton, Pa., Michael had lived in Franklin, N.J., for many years before moving to the Crystal Springs section of Hardyston Twp., NJ this year.
Michael received his BA in History from Glassboro State University and then worked as a program analyst for Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, N.J., for 37 years, retiring in 2013. He served on the Franklin Board of Education for 13 years and as a basketball referee and Little League coach. Michael was an avid NY Yankee and NY Giant fan and took great joy in doing his crosswords and word searches.
Michael is the beloved husband for 29 years of Mary F. Payton(nee Boyle) of Hardyston Twp., NJ. Devoted father of Timothy Payton and his girlfriend, Kelsey Blanchard of Franklin, NJ and Christopher Payton and his girlfriend, Daniela Decena of Franklin, NJ. Dear brother Frank Payton and his wife, Jenny of Brewster, NY and Mary Cishek and her husband, Jack of Johnsonburg, NJ. Cherished by many nieces and nephews.
Private cremation services by F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, N.J. A Celebration of His Life will be scheduled for a later date.
