Franklin police make drug arrest

FRANKLIN — A borough man faces charges after the Franklin Borough Police Dept. investigated a narcotics complaint.
Lennry Quintero-Valentin, 26, was charged on Tuesday, May 22, with narcotics distribution, one count of distribution of narcotics within 1000 feet of the Franklin Elementary School, one count of intent to distribute more than five ounces but less than five pounds of marijuana. Quintero also was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of prohibited weapons and devices, possession of handcuffs, and possession of fireworks following the execution of a search warrant at his residence at 6:30 a.m. after police executed a search warrant at a Rutherford Avenue residence.
Police said the warrant was obtained after an investigation into alleged drug trafficking from the residence. Police also seized nearly $8,000 of illegal narcotic sale proceeds.
Police said Quintero was released in accordance with the guidelines on New Jersey's bail system.
