Miners Opening Day festivities

The Sussex County Miners recently announced celebration plans to commemorate baseball's most cherished and American tradition, Opening Day. Taking place on Friday, May 18 against the Rockland Boulders, this year's home opener festivities will feature a thrilling blend of baseball, sights, sounds, tastes and spotlighting community. In addition, the first 500 fans will receive a schedule magnet, courtesy of R. Poust, Inc. Heating & Cooling and R. Poust Water, Well & Pump Services.
This year's pre-game festivities will feature a stellar lineup of community recognition. Along with rolling out the red carpet for the new season, the first pitch will be thrown by the Frankford Committee. In addition, the National Anthem will be performed by Hilltop Country Day School.
The Miners home opener will also boast riveting entertainment and fantastic food and drinks. Local classic rock band Rated R Band will perform sets before and after the game. Everyone looking to treat their taste buds and quench their thirst will have a blast at the second annual Beer & Burger Fest. This gastronomical spectacular will feature an eye-popping variety of mouthwatering specialty burgers as well as over 20 ice cold craft beers. Following the game, fans will experience a fireworks extravaganza that will be an explosive kaleidoscope of sight and sound.
