Wallkill Valley FBLA attends state leadership conference

HAMBURG — Twenty-four members of the Wallkill Valley Regional High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) participated in the 2018 FBLA State Leadership Conference at Harrah’s in Atlantic City March 7-9.
Garett Koch ran an amazing campaign along with Campaign Managers Zach Dora, Kayla Bifano, Tyler Small and the Wallkill contingency. Garett gave his declaration of office speech at the Conference Opening Session, conducted a campaign booth, and participated in a candidate caucus.
The Wallkill Valley members worked as a team, and Garett was elected the 2018-2019 New Jersey FBLA State President.
The State honored the Wallkill Valley Business Person of the Year, Mr. Bill Elig, owner of Mama Cee’s, and the Wallkill Valley Volunteer of the Year, Captain Larry Beller of the Sussex County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. and Mrs. William Swiss, Mrs. Michelle Bifano, Connor Mendes, Vinny Limon, Kyle McKenna, and Michael Brick attended the Conference as chaperones and judges.
The following FBLA members will now advance to the 2018 National Leadership Conference in Baltimore, Maryland, in June: Kayla Bifano — Future Business Leader; Partnership with Business Project — Kaitlyn Taylor and Drew Langenfeld; Broadcast Journalism — Tyler Small; Impromptu Speaking – Kaitlyn Taylor; and Local Chapter Annual Business Report – Harshil Bhavsar. Garett Koch will represent New Jersey as the 2018-2019 NJ FBLA State President. They will be joined by members Falyn Cunniffe, Riley Cunniffe, Zachary Dora, Amanda Spindler, and Hannah Sekelsky.
