Michael E. Petrakian

    Michael E. Petrakian of Milford, Pa., passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis, N.Y. He was 84.
    Son of the late John Stephen and Margaret Catherine (Frasier) Petrakian, he was born on Dec. 9, 1933, in Bayonne, N.J. Michael had lived in Liberty Corner, N.J., Bernardsville, N.J., and Milford, Pa., at two different times.
    He was married to Diane Frances Huyler who preceded him in death on Aug. 16, 2013.
    He worked in maintenance at the National Gypsum, Thermo Plastics, and was a substitute custodian for the Delaware Valley School District and for the Sandyston Walpack School, where he recently retired.
    He loved to spend time and share many great stories with his family and anyone else who would listen. He was a very hardworking and loving man and had an avid love for music and adventure, whether they were local or ones that would have him travel, usually to Knoebels Amusement Park.
    He leaves behind his children, Edward Petrakian and his wife, Carla, of Columbia, N.J., John Petrakian of Summit, N.J., Diane (Petrakian) Lilly and her husband, Russ, of Stirling, N.J., Sharon (Petrakian) Apgar and her, husband, Ron of Broadway, N.J., Matthew Petrakian and his wife, Abigail, of Matamoras, Pa., Christopher Petrakian and his fiancé, Jaclyn Harlacher, of Milford, Pa., and Jennifer Petrakian of Milford, Pa.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Patricia Eckels of Slippery Rock, Pa.; sisters, Margi Halko of Pennsylvania and Elizabeth Baker and her husband, Bob, of Florida; and brothers, John Petrakian of Pennsylvania, Robert Petrakian of New Jersey, James Petrakian of Pennsylvania and Walter Petrakian and his wife Mary of Pennsylvania.
    He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Petrakian of Slippery Rock, Pa.; and sister-in-law Wynn Petrakian of New Jersey.
    Visitation was held at Stroyan Funeral Home in Milford on April 17. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Patrick Church, Milford, on April 18, with the Rev. Alfred Vito officiating. Burial followed at Milford Cemetery, Dingman Township, Pa.
