Hospice honors those who help make a difference

— In 1980 Julia and Joseph Quinlan founded Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice in loving memory of their daughter. April 15, 2018 will mark the 38th year as the preeminent hospice for Sussex, Warren and Pike counties. As the only local, non-profit hospice the mission of Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice has remained strong and supported by many to ensure the best possible care is extended to patients and their family members in need of hospice support.
To recognize the efforts of those individuals whose work has advanced the cause of hospice, the organization will present a Hospice Honors Banquet to be hosted on Thursday, April 19 at Bear Brook Valley in Fredon, NJ at 6:00 p.m. Presenting sponsor, Lakeland Bank, invites guests to enjoy this special evening that will commemorate the honorees commitment and selfless dedication to decades of hospice support. Additional sponsorship support has been provided by Regional Cancer Care Associates, Cecelia T. Clayton, MPH, Contral Security Corporation, Smith-McCracken & Wood Funeral Homes, Sparta Chapter of UNICO National. The evening’s festivities will include: premium open bar/cocktail hour, dinner, award presentations, music provided by RC Mixers Entertainment and a captivating silent auction. New for 2018, the hospice has opened bidding on the silent auction items that will be featured at the event on April 19. Since the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice opened their doors to the community, the personal connection between the organization and the area residents has been the cornerstone of its growth and development. From the famous court battle and landmark decision that opened the Quinlans’ eyes to the need for end-of-life care for patients and families; to the creation of the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice; to the staff and volunteers who work diligently to help so many; to the community business leaders that reach out to the organization to help their mission.
