Vernon hosts volleyball scrimmage

In recent days most high school sports were cancelled or postponed because athletic fields were still snow covered or flooded.
Even though the calendar indicates it is now Spring, Old Man Winter is refusing to step aside and make way for warmer weather. Despite the frigid air outside the sport of volleyball has been played inside local gymnasiums.
Boys volleyball scrimmages has allowed local squads to 'tune-up' for the upcoming regular season due to begin in a few days.
Vernon Township High School hosted a 6-team volleyball scrimmage on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Vernon's boys volleyball team took on other teams in a series of 40 minute contests. Other teams were from the following participating schools, Jefferson Township High School (Oak Ridge, N.J.), Pope John XXIII Regional High School (Sparta Township, N.J.), Veritas Christian Academy (Sparta Township, N.J.), West Milford High School (Passaic County, N.J.) and Garfield High School (Bergen County, N.J.).
