What do you think about National Walkout Day?

Students in the tri-state area joined thousands across the country in protest as part of National Walkout Day on March 14, the one-month anniversary of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
Participants, which included students and some teachers and staff, walked out of schools nationwide at 10 a.m. for 17 minutes, one minute for each life lost in the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February.
The goal of the demonstration was to call attention to government inaction in response to gun violence plaguing American schools and neighborhoods.
Some schools allowed the 17-minute walkout while others did not feel comfortable with the protest being outdoors. In anticipation of the event, some schools decided to allow demonstrations within the school, such as sit-ins, fund raisers for the Stoneman Douglas Victims Fund or discussions among students and teachers about ways in which they can make a difference in creating safer schools at home and across the country.
Some students held demonstrations indoors to avoid disciplinary action.
