Police make arrest in 2016 burglary

A Stockholm man is facing charges afer borough police invesigated completeled a burglary investigation from 2016.
Giorgio Samuel Van Horn, 20, was charged on Wednesday, Feb. 21, with burglary, theft and criminal mischief, all third-degree crimes.
The Scott Road resident reported on June 22, 2106, she had left her residence for approximately two hours during the late morning and returned to find her house had been entered by unknown individuals and a safe containing over $12,000 had been removed from the residence. The resident reported a substantial amount of damage to flooring, stairs, and walls, which appeared to have occurred as a result of the safe being forcibly removed from the residence.
Van Horn was arrested at 11 a.m. on Hamburg Turnpike in Stockholm.
He was released pending a court appearance on March 14, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in Sussex County Superior Court.
The New Jersey State Park Police canine unit and New Jersey State Police crime scene processing assisted with the investigation.
