Pope John plans 'Bring It On' musical

    The Pope John XXIII High School Booster Club announced the annual Dinner & A Show event for this year featuring the Pope John Players performing "Bring It on: The Musical", and taking place Friday, March 2 at 6 p.m. at Pope John XXIII Regional High School, 28 Andover Road, Sparta.
    “This event always draws a great crowd,” states event chairperson Yolanda Lucarelli, “The combination of a delicious dinner followed by a fantastic, high-energy musical show at a great price makes for a wonderful evening!” Fine Arts Department Teacher Jacquelyn Burt adds, "Bring It On" is the ideal choice for 2018 as it examines issues of the meaning of competition, social equality, bullying, feminism, and diversity through the amazing kaleidoscope of Lin-Manuel Miranda's timely music and lyrics. It features tumbling, dance and top-notch vocals. Join the award-winning Pope John Players for an evening of fast-paced entertainment that's not to be missed!"
    The evening kicks off with dinner at 6 p.m. followed by the show at 8 p.m. Dinner choices for adults include fish & chips, eggplant rollatini or spinach lasagna. Children receive two slices of pizza and chips. Non-alcoholic beverages are included. Tickets cost $48. for adults and $25. for children and include dinner and the show.     Pope John Booster Club President Maureen Myles explains, “Ticket purchases help offset rising costs of keeping extracurricular activities an integral part of our children’s education, from drama club to robotics teams to the entire spectrum of sports programs. With these programs, children learn teamwork, cooperation and social skills — and may discover a new passion! Besides our Pope John students, local recreational teams also have access to our fields and courts.”
