Vernon accepting Senior of the Year nominations

VERNON — Nominations are being accepted for Vernon’s Senior of the Year.
The nominee must be a Vernon resident who has resided in the township for at least five years. Nominees should have rendered service that benefits the community and surrounding areas; such as volunteering in hospitals, county, work, etc.
The nomination form is available on the Vernon Township Website: www.vernontwp.com and also at the Vernon Senior Center. Nominees must not be an employee of Vernon Township or a member of the Senior Board. Nominations should be sent to the attention of Vernon Senior Center at 21 Church St., Vernon, NJ. Nominations may also be faxed to 973-764-5560.
The winner will be announced at the Senior of the Year Luncheon to be held April 30, 2018 at Crystal Springs in the Emerald Ballroom. Vernon seniors interested in attending the luncheon can sign up at the Vernon Senior Center on March 21, 2018 between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon.
Proof of residency must be provided at the time of sign up. The cost is $10 per person.
