Jan. 26Reginald D. Casterlin, 49, of Vernon was sentenced to three years of probation on condition that he serve 540 days in jail and a 10 years loss of his driver’s license. Upon return of his license he must participate in the Interlock program for three years. He must also undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, undergo any other evaluations required by Probation, attend AA/NA five times per week, submit to random urine monitoring, submit a DNA sample, and pay $4,324 in court fines and fees.
He pleaded guilty on Nov. 6, 2017 to 4th degree Driving While suspended for a second or subsequent DWI and three DWI motor vehicle charges.
In July the defendant was driving under the influence when he was involved in a motor vehicle accident in Vernon. At that time he was also driving while his driver’s license was suspended for a second or subsequent DWI. He was also driving while intoxicated on two other separate occasions in Hamburg Township and Hardyston Township.
Linda Hulse-Appleby, 52, of Byram, was sentenced to 180 days home detention and four years probation with conditions on the present charge. The defendant’s prior probation was extended for another 4 years concurrent to her new sentence. The defendant shall pay $272 fines and fees.
She pleaded guilty on Dec. 6, 2017, to one count of Shoplifting, one count of Theft (both third degree crimes) and a violation of probation.
The defendant took merchandise from the Frogmore Country Store in Byram on June 6, 2016.
John I. Phalon, 34, of Sussex was sentenced to three years probation on the condition he undergo a substance abuse evaluation and follow all recommendations, complete 50 hours of community service, submit to random urine monitoring, submit a DNA sample and pay $157 in court fines and fees.
He pleaded guilty on Dec. 4, 2017, to third degree Uttering a Forged Instrument.
In January of 2017, defendant presented a forged prescription to the Rite-Aid Pharmacy in Hamburg to obtain drugs, knowing the prescription was fake.
Jan. 29Korey J. Ball. 32, of Blairstown pleaded guilty to receiving atolen property and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, both third degree crimes. Sentencing is presently anticipated for March 23, 2018.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to receiving stolen property, specifically an ATV and to being in possession of heroin.
The case was investigated by Trooper Rodriguez of the New Jersey state police.
Carrie Woods, 24, of Brooklyn pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy, a third-degree cream and two counts of forgery, a third-degree crime.
On April 6, 2017, Woods entered the Quick Check in Newton and tried to make a purchase with a fraudulent $100 bill. On April 15, 2017, Woods entered the Quick Check in Hopatcong and used a fake $100 bill to make a purchase. Sentencing is presently anticipated for March 23, 2018.
Jan. 30Andrew M. Spooner, 36, of Netcong, NJ, pleaded guilty to one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a crime of the third-degree.
Sentencing is presently scheduled for April 13, 2018.
Theodore Robbins, 30, of Branchville, was sentenced to three years probation with credit for 23 days served in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility. He must also attend AA/NA a minimum of two times per week, complete one hundred hours of community service, undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, submit to random urine monitoring, complete his GED, testify truthfully against his co-defendants if necessary, and pay $1,155.00 in court fines and fees.
He pleaded guilty on Oct. 30, 2017, to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a crime of the third degree.
The defendant was in possession of Heroin while he was driving a vehicle that was pulled over by New Jersey State Police while they were conducting another investigation.
