Matthew Gillis, 25, passed away surrounded by loved ones at the Morristown Medical Center on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018. Matthew was born on Sept. 5, 1992, in Port Jervis, N.Y., to George and Linda (nee Conklin) Gillis. Matthew was longtime resident of Hamburg.
Matthew was a graduate of Wallkill High School in 2011. He was the manager at the Quick Chek in Wantage for several years until he left on disability. Matthew hobbies are golf, NASCAR, his favorite driver Martin Truex Jr., he loved his Ford truck, enjoyed spending time with his friends especially Dylan, he loved all sports and was a very outdoorsman.
Matt was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, George and Helen Gillis and his maternal grandfather Horace Conklin.
Matthew is the loving husband of Ashley, a devoted son of George and Linda Gillis of Hamburg, and brother of Tabitha and Stefanie Gillis, uncle of Cody, grandson of Lillian Conklin of Hamburg, and his best friend Dylan and his dog he called his little girl, Daisy.
Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday Jan. 23 from 3-8 p.m. at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, N.J.
