Robert Charles Doty, 68 years old, died peacefully after an unexpected short illness at Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice, Fredon Twp. NJ on Saturday, December 16, 2017. Born to Francis and Evelyn Doty in New York City, NY, he had lived in North Bergen, NJ and Maywood, NJ before moving to Franklin, NJ in 2000.
Robert served with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and then worked as a truck driver for many years retiring from LabCorp in Raritan, NJ in 2014. An enthusiastic sports fan, Robert was a member of the Warwick Bowling League and enjoyed bowling, outdoor activities like fishing, hiking, and walking. He was a nature lover and enjoyed travelling. He was also an avid animal lover especially his two cats, Nala and Vixie.
Robert is predeceased by his brother, Francis Doty, Jr. and is the beloved husband for 43 years of Chantal Doty (nee Melin) of Franklin, NJ.
Memorial visitation will be Thursday, December 21, 2017 at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ from 10 to 11 AM. Memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM. Cremation was private. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice Foundation, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860 would be appreciated.
