Wallkill Valley holds annual art show

The 7th annual Wallkill Invitational Art Show was held this past Friday night in the Wallkill Media center hosted by the Wallkill chapter of the National Art Honor Society. Hundreds of people enjoyed the sights and sounds as musical guests Lia Pila, Nicole Verga and Chris Hara sang amidst over 150 artworks by students from ten area high schools and six middle schools.
The show was judged by guest artists and college representatives from ArtEtc Gallery, Peter's Valley School of Craft, William Paterson University, Delaware College of Art and Design, RIngling College of Art and Montserrat College of Art. Place ribbons, medals, certificates and gift certificates from Blick Art Materials were handed out and upwards of $200,000 in scholarship money was awarded.
This was an incredible evening showcasing the talented teen artists in the area and celebrating the arts.
Schools participating were High Point High School, Vernon Township High School, Kittatinny Regional High School, Roxbury High School, West Milford High School, Sparta High School, Montville High School, Warren Hills Regional High School, Mount Olive Township High School and of course Wallkill Valley Regional High School. Middle schools were Hardyston Middle School, Franklin Elementary School, Hamburg School, Ogdensburg Elementary School, Sussex Middle School and Kittatinny Middle School.
