    John I. Phalon, 33, of Sussex pleaded guilty to third-degree Uttering a Forged Instrument.
    Sentencing is presently scheduled for Jan. 26, 2018.
    The defendant admitted he presented a forged prescription to the Rite-Aid Pharmacy in Hamburg to obtain drugs, knowing the prescription was fake.
    Jennifer L. Falkenstern, 38, formerly of Bergenfeld, pleaded guilty to a crime of the fourth degree Theft.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 26, 2018.
    The defendant admitted that she took over $35,000 from the victim’s personal bank account for her own use.
    John Rivera, 21, of Hasbrouck Heights pleaded guilty to one count of criminal mischief and one county of contempt of a final restraining order, both disorderly persons offenses.
    Rivera was sentenced to 2 years probation and was credited with 7 days time served. He was also ordered to pay $600 in restitution and mandatory fines and fees.
    Dec. 6
    Richard Taylor, 55, of Byram pleaded guilty to shoplifting, a fourth-degree crime.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 26, 2018.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to taking merchandise from the Frogmore Country Store in Byram on June 6, 2016.
    The case was investigated by Patrolman Robert Schellhammer of the Byram Police Department.
    Linda Hulse-Appleby, 52, of Byram pleaded guilty to shoplifting and theft, both third-degree crimes and a violation of probation.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 26, 2018.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to taking merchandise from the Frogmore Country Store in Byram on June 6, 2016.
    The case was investigated by Patrolman Robert Schellhammer of the Byram Police Department.
    Dec. 7
    Jason Sinclair, 43, of Stanhope was indicted on the second-degree crime of witness tampering, the third-degree crimes of possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, aggravated assault, and terroristic threats, and the fourth-degree crimes of unlawful possession of a weapon, criminal mischief and contempt.
    The case was presented to the Grand Jury by Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie LaCarrubba. Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next 6 weeks.
    Dec. 8
    Carlos Guerrero, 24, of Paterson was sentenced to two years of probation with credit for six days of jail time served. He was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation at the discretion of probation, complete 75 hours of community service work, and pay fines and fees totaling $1,105.
    He pleaded guilty on Oct. 16, 2017, to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime.
    The defendant was in possession of heroin on March 5, 2016, in Sparta.
