FBLA initiates food pantry

HAMBURG — The Wallkill Valley Regional High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America initiated the FBLA Cupboard food pantry in December 2016 to assist the Wallkill Valley community.
The members were contacted by Mrs. Christine Parauda, Coordinator of LocalShare New Jersey, to partner with the organization in September 2017; and the students have worked collaboratively with the organization by gleaning local farms and distributing produce to the community and to other local food pantries.
The Wallkill Valley FBLA Cupboard is open once a month to the community; and the next distribution date is scheduled for Dec. 14, 2017, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in I Hall of the high school.
