Donald Frayko, age 84, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, at Barn Hill Care Center in Newton. Born in Passaic to the late George and Norma (Malka) Frayko, Don had lived in Clifton for many years and then Newfoundland for twenty years, before moving to Wantage 23 years ago. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Frayko was a maintenance supervisor at Knapp Chemical Company in Clifton until 1988. Along with his wife, he owned and operated Wagon Wheel Antiques in Newfoundland until 1989. After closing the store, they still continued to pursue their love of buying and selling antiques together and attended many auctions. Mr. Frayko was also a former member of the Sussex Over 50 Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine M. Frayko in 1997. Mr. Frayko is survived by his son, Michael Frayko and his wife Sheila of Hamburg; his daughter, Deborah DenHollander and her husband Rich of Wantage; his sister, Betty Derbyshire of Colorado; five grandchildren, Jason DenHollander and his wife Rebecca, Laura DenHollander, Christopher Frayko and his wife Deejae, Casey Frayko, and Brian Frayko; and two great grandchildren, Zeek and Wyatt Frayko. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Sunday prior to the service from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Private cremation services will be held at the convenience of the family.
