George Gerald Fertig

George Gerald Fertig, 74 years, of the Stockholm section in West Milford, N.J., passed away on Friday, Nov. 17, 2017.
He was born on May 5, 1943, in Union City, N.J. to the late Mary Marjorie (nee Miller) and the late Richard Paul Fertig.
George married Kathleen Lillian (nee Palvis) in 1964 and resided in North Bergen, NJ, later moving to Palisades Park where they raised their family. In 2005 they moved to West Milford, N.J.
He owned and operated GF Industries in Stockholm, N.J.
George enjoyed spending time at home and tending to his garden.
George was predeceased by his loving parents Mary and Richard Fertig, and his dear siblings Richard and John Fertig.
He is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen Lillian, his loving children Catherine Marie Fertig of Franklin, N.J., and George M. Fertig of West Milford, N.J.; his cherished grandchildren Danielle and Gillian Durante of Franklin, N.J.; his dear sisters Mary Smith and her husband Ed of West Long Branch, N.J., and Grayce Schmidt of Lempster, N.H.; his sisters-in-law Cathy Fertig of Hasbrouck Heights, N.J., Joyce Fertig of Eatontown, N.J., and Elaine Palvis of Sparrowbush, N.Y.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435 (GPS use 1 Post Place).
