Entertainment abounds during Christmas in Village

    The Jefferson Arts Committee is delighted that the Milton United Methodist Church will once again serve as a venue in the 12th annual Christmas in the Village event both on Friday Dec. 1, where the Jefferson Arts Committee will accept entries for the Gingerbread House Contest* (pre-regis/fee required) between 6 and 7 p.m. and, on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the historically designated Village of Milton.
    MUMC is located at 316 Dover-Milton Road in the Milton/Oak Ridge section of Jefferson Township. Admission is free as is parking.
    The church will host live entertainment in their church sanctuary including a 10 AM performance by their own Hand Bell Choir. New Hope Thrift Shop will also open (no merchandise donations accepted today). At 11 AM, the Arthur Stanlick Elementary School Band will perform under the direction of Emily Thomsen, followed by the Jefferson Township High School Band under the direction of Richard Barrieres.
    At 1 p.m, the Jefferson Township Community Band Christmas Concert “Christmas Favorites with Minor Alterations” under the direction of Peter Tummillo will perform (free will donation at the door is appreciated) and will be followed at 2 p.m. by the White Rock Elementary School Band under Robert Tiedemann. The Jefferson Township Middle School Band under the direction of Lauren Kulick will perform at 3 p.m.
    The entries in the Arts Committee’s annual Gingerbread House Contest will be on display in the lobby of the Church and the winning houses will be tagged with award ribbons. Be sure to stop by between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to see these creative gingerbread houses. Entry forms available at www.jeffersonarts.org
    If you feel like a sweet treat, church members will offer hot cocoa and desserts for sale in Headley Hall so be sure to stop by.
