    Brooke Van Veen of Oak Ridge performed with the Lebanon Valley College orchestra during its fall tour. Van Veen, a graduate of Jefferson Township High School, is pursuing a bachelor of music and bachelor of arts in audio and music production and music at The Valley.
    The tour took place Oct. 2-4 at high schools in Virginia and Maryland. The orchestra's public performance will be Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. at John Champe High School in Aldie, Va. The performance will also include the orchestra from the high school under the direction of Ethan Lawrence.
    Zachary Altorre-Davies of Oak Ridge, Robert Santiago and Daniel Sienkiewicz, both of Hamburg, Jimmy Michel of Hardyston, Michael Corsetti of Stockholm, Vanessa Perruccio and Melissa Baldwin, both of Oak Ridge, Kimberly Kays of Ogdensburg, Nicholas Calandra of Oak Ridge, Thomas Connors of Franklin, Mitesh Amin of Lafayette, and Elisabeth Endrikat of Stockholm recently graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
    Brianna Treacey of Oak Ridge has ben named to the summer 2017 dean's list at University of Sciences.
    Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a "C" and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in the summer of 2017.
    2nd Lieutenant Evan J. Sporer of Oak Ridge graduated from Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training at Vance Air Force Base in Oklahoma.
    This 54-week pilot training program begins with a six-week preflight phase of academics and physical training to prepare students for flight. The second phase, primary training, is conducted in the single-engine, turboprop T-6A Texan II. Primary training takes approximately 23 weeks and includes 254 hours of ground instruction, 27 hours in the flight simulator and 89 hours in the T-6A aircraft.
    Paige Dunlap of Hardyston Dunlap has been cast as Madge in Curry Theatre's production of "The World-Famous Farce of Peter Quill."
    While Paige, a Senior Communication major and daughter of Gary Dunlap and Susan O'Connor, is making her debut performance, she has been involved behind the scenes at Curry Theatre for several years. She currently serves on the theatre supervisory board as the Absolute Improv liaison, and was the assistant director for the "New Plays Festival" during the Spring 2017 semester.
    Kendall Edwards was inducted into University of Delaware’s Alpha Lambda Delta honor society on Oct. 14 for achieving a 3.96 GPA her freshman year.
    Kendall is a nursing major with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. She is a member of Delaware Diplomats, Best Buddies and their fundraising committee, Student Nursing Organization, UDab and she also tutors other students.
