History repeats itself

To the Editor:
Sadly, today's Millennials' misplaced sense of entitlement have them believing socialism is the answer, thus the big attraction for Bernie and the left-leaning Democratic party (although even a cursory check of modern-day Venezuela over the past ten years should be an eye-opener.) The workers can support the shirkers for just so long...and then there are no workers.
This, from Dr. David Jeremiah, explains it well:
"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by dictatorship."
