Oct. 2Amanda Wilgus, 31, of Newton pleaded guilty to theft, a crime of the third degree.
Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 15.
The defendant admitted to taking several rings from a friend’s Newton residence and then selling them.
Oct. 16Elijah Alvarado, 19, of Bayonne pleaded guilty to theft, a crime of the third degree.
Sentencing is presently scheduled for Dec. 8.
The defendant admitted to arranging to purchase a motorcycle from the Hopatcong victim. The defendant then took the motorcycle for a test drive and did not return.
Austin Davidson, 22, of Andover pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a crime of the third degree. Sentencing is presently scheduled for Dec. 15.
The defendant admitted to possessing Marijuana when involved in a motor vehicle stop by Hopatcong Police Department.
Oct. 20Terry L. Powers, 53, of Milford, Pa., was sentenced to five years probation on condition that she complete 150 hours of community service, undergo random urine monitoring, submit a DNA sample, continue treatment and pay $155 in fines and fees.
She pleaded guilty on Sept. 11 to third-degree shoplifting.
In May of this year she entered Kohl’s Department Store in Newton taking merchandise, which was valued at over one thousand dollars, and left the store. All of the items taken were recovered.
Oct. 23Michael Linder, 27, of Sussex Borough pleaded guilty to unlawful taking of a means of conveyance, a fourth-degree crime.
Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 5.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to taking an individual’s car without permission on Oct. 30, 2016, in Vernon Township.
The case was investigated by Patrolman Adam Kraus of the Vernon Township Police Department.
Michael Davenport, 23, of Ogdensburg pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a crime of the third degree and a violation of probation.
Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 8.
The defendant admitted to hitting the victim over the head with a beer bottle causing injury after a dispute at the Fountain Square Inn in Sussex.
Justin Pearly, 35, of New Milford, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, crimes of the third degree.
Sentencing is presently scheduled for Dec. 1.
The defendant admitted to have in possession heroin, when law enforcement located him at the Sunrise House of Lafayette after receiving a call about someone trespassing in July of 2016. The defendant also admitted to possessing heroin when police responded to a well-being check in June of 2016.
Jonathan Ramirez, 24, of Bronx, N.Y., pleaded guilty to forgery, a crime of the third degree. Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 8.
Eric Manno, 33, of Hamburg pleaded guilty to theft, a third-degree crime.
Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 1.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to taking a turbocharger from the porch of a Hardyston residence in September 2016.
The case was investigated by Detective David White of the Hardyston Township Police Department based on information provided by the Franklin Boro Police Department.
The defendant admitted to attempting to use a fraudulent prescription at the ShopRite of Newton.
Oct. 24Steven Smith, 30, of Wantage pleaded guilty to strict liability for drug induced death, a first-degree crime.
Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 12.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to distributing or dispensing heroin through a co-defendant to an individual in Wantage Township on Aug. 21, 2015, whose death was the result of ingesting the heroin. Smith agrees to be sentenced to six years in New Jersey State Prison subject to the No Early Release Act.
The case was jointly investigated by detectives of the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office and troopers of the New Jersey State Police.
