Green Team plans holiday light contest

The Green Team is celebrating the 2017 holiday season with its 2nd Annual Light Up the Holidays contest.
The event raises money for local charities while recognizing the beauty and joy of homes and businesses whose decorations light up our communities. Last year over $3,000 was raised for the Warwick Valley Humane Society. This year the contest will be expanded to include homes and businesses in both Sussex and Orange counties.
The Green Team’s Vernon office will be raising money for the Vernon Township Senior Center and the Warwick office will be raising money for Warwick Playground Dreams. The Green Team will be reaching out to local businesses, professionals and individuals in Sussex and Orange Counties to sponsor the contest by making donations directly to their local charity.
Green Team committee members volunteering their time and efforts to support this wonderful event are Heidi Hyland, Joyce Rogers, Geoffrey Green, Keren Gonen and Nancy Martin in the Vernon office and Jennifer DiCostanzo, Tammy Scotto, Donna Roberts, Susan Wynn, Geoffrey Green and Julianna Green in the Warwick office.
Photos of homes and businesses decorated in the spirit of the season will be taken and placed on the Green Team website and Facebook page. Entries can be made by registering on the website LUH.GreenTeamHQ.com, being nominated by a friend or neighbor, or being selected by members of the Green Team. Three winners in each county will be selected on Jan. 11, 2018, by a committee made up of representatives from the community. The winners will be announced on the website on Jan. 12.
By sharing in the beauty and generosity of the season, The Green Team hopes to Light Up the Holidays and bring our communities even closer together.
