Marilyn Joyce Tallman

Marilyn Joyce (Demmer) Tallman (nee Current), 87 years old, died after a brief illness at Morristown Medical Center on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017. Born to the late Russell and Elsie Current in Ogdensburg, N.J., she was raised in and had been a lifelong resident of Ogdensburg before recently moving to Arbor Terrace in Morris Plains.
Marilyn started work for McGregor’s Sewing Company in Newton and also worked for the Franklin Bakery, Morley Shirt Company, W.D. Filter Fabrics, and the Ogdensburg School Cafeteria. She was a Life Member of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Franklin Presbyterian Church and the Franklin Women’s Club. She enjoyed sewing, was an avid history buff, was a champion Yahtzee player, loved all games, and enjoyed traveling to places like Alaska, Iceland, the Panama Canal, Hawaii and all over the United States. She also enjoyed Lakeland Bus Tours, watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and the Price is Right. She adored Elvis and was an avid Giants Fan.
Marilyn is predeceased by her parents, Russell and Elsie Current, her first husband, Raymond Demmer (1971), and her second husband, Paul Tallman (2014), a brother, William “Jim” Current, and a sister, Elizabeth Current. She was a devoted mother of Linda Pawlowicz and her husband, Tony, of Concord, CA, Diane Edwards and her husband, Dale, of Edmeston, N.Y., Sharon McCarty and her husband, Jim, of Wantage Twp., N.J, Tracy Hornyak and her husband, Earl, of Ogdensburg, NJ, and Emily O’Brien and her husband, Bob, of Morris Plains, NJ. She was also stepmother to Warren Tallman and his wife, June, of Chase Mills, NY, and Deborah Bailey and her husband, Will, of Dothan, AL. She is cherished by 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, N.J., on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, from 2-4 & 6:30 to 8 p.m. Funeral service to follow at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Cremation is private.
