    Marlene Lazo De Hidalgo, 65 years, of Bayonne, N.J., passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Bayonne Medical Center.
    She was born on April 9, 1952 in Esteli, Nicaragua to Maria Antonia (nee Benavides) and Migual Lazo.
    Marlene married Adrian in 1969 and together they raised their family in Nicaragua, where she was also a school teacher for many years.
    She was predeceased by her dear brother Alfred Lopez.
    Marlene is survived by her beloved husband Adrian Hidalgo of Bayonne, N.J.; her loving children Jose Adrian Hidalgo and his wife, Lucy, of Hasbrouck Heights, N.J., Miguel Angel Hidalgo and his wife Maryuri of Virginia, Darwing Hidalgo and his wife Ana of Oak Ridge, N.J, and Lizette Hidalgo of Nicaragua; her cherished grandchildren Edward, Gabriel, Abrahan, Ulysses, Miguel, Joshua, Yarilee, and Evaluna; her loving siblings Noel, Gloria, and Maribel Lopez, all of Nicaragua; as well as many nieces and nephews.
    She will best be remembered for enjoying her family, reading and writing, especially poetry, and knitting.
    The family will receive visitors on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435 (GPS use 1 Post Place).
    A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, 5635 Berkshire Valley Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438.
    Following the mass Marlene will be interred in St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, adjacent to the church.
