    Mary B. McCarthy, 70, of Hamburg, passed away at home with her family by her side on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017.
    She was born on June 21, 1947, in Forty Fort, Pa., to the late Genevieve Ann (nee Munley) Collins and the late Thomas Francis Collins.
    Mary married Lawrence McCarthy in 1968 and resided in Montclair, N.J,, moving in 1970 to Caldwell, N.J., where they raised their family. In 2005, they relocated to Sussex County until her passing.
    She graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in Montclair, N.J. and went on to earn her Bachelor degree in education at Seton Hall University.
    For many years Mary was an elementary school teacher at Lacodaire Academy in Upper Montclair, NJ, also at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Roseland, N.J., and in the East Orange School District.
    She was predeceased by her loving parents Genevieve and Thomas Collins, her dear siblings Jacqueline Collins Johann and Thomas Francis Collins, Jr.
    Mary is survived by her beloved husband Lawrence McCarthy of Hamburg, N.J., her loving children Lawrence Edward McCarthy, Jr., and his wife Agnes (Waszczuk), Lara A. McCarthy and her wife Jennifer (Munson), and Jennifer M. Chelel and her husband Matthew; her cherished grandchildren Luke Ron Chelel, Maggie Grace Chelel, and Samantha Clare McCarthy; her dear siblings Ann and Edward Collins; as well as many nieces and nephews.
    A Mass of the Resurrection will take place on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle RC Church, 4-24 Beaver Run Rd, Hamburg, NJ 07419.
