The Wallkill Valley Rangers earned their first iwn of the season with a 14-7 win over Sussex County Technical School on Saturday, Oct. 7.
The win was bittersweet for Wallkill Valley because this contest was played in honor of the late Thomas "Tommy" Bock. Bock, who was a resident of Hardyston, was a wrestler for Wallkill Valley Regional High School. Bock died on Sunday, May 7. He fell off of his skateboard while riding and suffered a head injury the day before. He was 15 years old.
After the conclusion of the game both teams knelt in the middle of the field for a moment of silence to honor the memory of Bock who also played football for Sussex County Technical School. The well liked athlete was a member of the Lake Tamerack Swim Team as well.
The Rangers improved to 1-4 and the Mustangs fell to 1-4
