John Clifford Wittig
John Clifford Wittig, 61 years old, died at home surrounded by his family after a long illness on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017. Born to Claud and Joann Wittig in Dover, N.J., he was raised in Lake Stockholm, N.J,., and lived in Franklin, N.J., for the last 26 years.
John owned and operated John C. Wittig Tree Removal Service in Franklin, N.J., for many years. He eN.J.oyed boating, NASCAR, fishing, riding ATV’s and spending time with family.
John is predeceased by his first wife, Josephine Ann Wittig (2008) and is the beloved husband of Helen Wittig (nee Slater). Devoted father of John Wittig and his wife, Maria, of Cassleberry, Fla., Heidi Silverman and her fiancée, Nick of Florida, Amanda Mason and her husband, Pete of Australia, Jessica Sharry-Dransfield and her husband, Chris of Lafayette Twp., N.J., Heather Sharry and her fiancée, Chris Herrick of Franklin, N.J., Tegan Gaffey and her husband, John, of North Arlington, N.J., Paul Sharry and his wife, Lauren of Hasbrouck Heights, N.J., Jennifer Slater of Franklin, N.J. and Helen Slater of Franklin, N.J.. Dear brother of Kathleen Shortis and her husband, Frank of Monroe Twp., N.J., William Wittig and his wife, Sandy of Stillwater, N.J., Frank Wittig of Lake Stockholm, N.J. and Carol Cahir and her husband, Mike of Waleska, Ga. Loving grandfather of Katelyn and Stella Wittig, Madeline and Jocilyn Schott, Trinity and Serenity Mason, Alex Sharry, William Condit, Christopher and Weslee Dransfield, Josephine Herrick, Charlotte Gaffey and Tristan Sharry. The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, N.J., on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at North Hardyston Cemetery, Hardyston Twp., N.J.
