Apartment complex could change Franklin

Despite what you may have read elsewhere, Franklin is a nice, little town. Things are occurring here that could fundamentally change the fabric of our little town. And much of the change appears to be occurring without public dialog, with a deaf ear turned toward citizens concerns. The apartment complex that is proposed in town will bring many changes, not all of them good. The town's wells are located on that property, and I've yet to hear assurances that they will remain unencumbered. That is just one concern.
This property was purchased in March, and the developer was before the planning board in April asking for variances, but without any real site plans. What's the rush? The environmentally sensitive area has been there for many years, If there's a time issue, shouldn't plans have been in place?
Put the brakes on, review the proposal, and do what is truly in the best interests of our town. Listen to the citizens who already live here. Not the noise being put forth by a person who doesn't even live here.
I urge all residents of Franklin to pay attention to what is going on. Council meetings and planning board meetings are regularly scheduled, attend them. Make your voice heard. Educate yourself.
