Three charged in Franklin drug probe

FRANKLIN — Franklin police have made three arrests following an investigation of narcotics distribution from within the borough of Franklin.
Jonathan Buffington, 19, of Frnaklin was charged on multiple counts of possession of marijuana and distribution of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school and within 500 feet of the local library. Joseph Hamler, 21, of Franklin was charged with multiple counts of possession of Marijuana and distribution of marijuana. Christopher Jonas, 21, of West Milford was charged with multiple counts of distribution and possession of marijuana.
Following the execution of search warrants within the Borough, all three were alleged to have been in possession of an undisclosed amount of marijuana ready and packaged for sale. Buffinton is alleged to have sold heroin within 1000 feet of where school buses are parked and stored and within 500 feet of the Sussex County Library – Franklin Branch, while Jonas and Hamler are alleged to have sold marijuana in the borough.
An undisclosed amount of money and a vehicle were seized during the investigation and during the execution of multiple search warrants.
Investigation is ongoing and additional arrests may follow.
