On the weekend of September 23rd and 24th , the Franklin-Sterling Gem & Mineral Show will celebrate its 61st year operating one of the largest gem and mineral shows in northern New Jersey. Featuring over 40 dealers, the show offers a variety of merchandise including gems, mineral specimens, jewelry, lapidary items, books, and mining artifacts.
This year, the show will be moving the show back to where it all started, the Littell Community Center located at 10-12 Munsonhurst Road, Franklin and runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Inside dealers fill the gymnasium alongside the educational exhibits.
Also located inside are fluorescent mineral dealers and spectacular displays of Franklin’s world-famous fluorescent minerals. Outside vendors are welcome to set up behind the Littell Community Center an hour before show opening. The show is the only fundraiser sponsored by the Franklin Mineral Museum. In conjunction with the show, the museum will have a special sale of minerals and merchandise.
The nonprofit, educational museum is located on Evans Street and is open for the public to visit, explore, and learn about the mining industry.
