George Geary Jr., 92, passed away on Tuesday Sept. 12, 2017. George was born on Aug. 1, 1925, in Wantage to the late George and Ruth (nee Hough) Geary Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Hardyston Township.
George served in the 82nd Airborne Paratrooper Division in the United States Army during WWII. He was a lifelong dairy farmer and owned Twin Knolls Farm in Hardyston Township. He enjoyed fishing, wood working and crossword puzzles. He was a member of the American Legion. George enjoyed his family and their gatherings.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth (nee Simmons) Geary, and step son, Terry Manning and his siblings, Ruth Howard, Louise Puder and Harry Geary.
George is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Helena M. Geary (nee Hardy), his daughter, Susan Mayfield and her husband, Mark of Wever, Iowa and grandchildren, Eric Mayfield and his wife Bridget, Jennifer Mayfield and Craig Mayfield, and great grandchildren, Harper Mayfield and Baylie Mayfield, and his step children, Valarie Woortman and her husband Robert of Lafayette and Alan Henderson and his wife Lorie of Lafayette, and daughter-in-law Susan Manning, and his step grandchildren, Ashley Woortman Pepe and her husband Ryan, Vanessa Aikens and her husband Josh, Andrew Henderson, Stacey Manning and Joanne Carr and her husband Michael, and his great step grandchildren, Matthew Carr, Rachael Carr and Cillian Aikens and is survived by nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends were received on Friday, Sept. 15, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, N.J. and gather at the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 16, for a 10 a.m. funeral service with committal services at North Hardyston Cemetery.
