Barry Paul Barta, 69, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017. Barry was born on Feb. 21, 1948, in Franklin, N.J., to the late Beri and Mary (nee Derbawka) Barta.
Barry was a lifelong resident of Franklin.
He loved scuba diving, kayaking, target shooting, and watching football. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Barry served in the United States Air Force and is a Vietnam veteran. He was the owner and operator of Tech Pump & Controls since 1985. Barry was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He served on the Franklin Board of Public Works for 8 years.
Barry was predeceased by his parents and sister Frances Hocking.
Barry is survived by his loving wife Joy (nee Whritenour) Barta, and his two sons, Michael Barta and his wife Kathryn of Hardyston Township, and Matthew Barta and his fiancé Jada Garnes of Warwick, N.Y. He has three loving grandchildren, Andrew, Jason, and Skyler. Barry is also survived by a brother Paul Barta and his wife Laurel of Hanover, Pa.. and many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends were received on Monday, Sept. 18, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home One Main Street, Franklin, N.J. Those attending the funeral gathered at the funeral home on Tuesday Sept. 19, at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:30 a.m. mass of Christian Burial service at Immaculate Conception Church.
