Fusco named vice chairman of Financial Managers Society

Steve Fusco, Senior Executive vice president and chief financial officer of Sussex Bank in Rockaway, N.J., was elected vice chairman of the financial managers society’s (FMS) board of directors at The 2017 FMS Forum, which took place in June in Las Vegas, Nev.
An active member of FMS for over 15 years, Fusco has been an integral part of FMS’s leadership. A member of the board of directors since 2014, Fusco has also served various officer roles including President of the FMS New York / New Jersey Chapter from 2008 to 2012 and an active member since the early 1990’s.
“I am honored to expand my role on the board by serving as FMS Vice Chairman,” stated Fusco. “FMS has been an integral part in my professional development throughout my career and it’s important for me to give back to the organization and the members that have provided me with so much.”
Fusco will serve as vice chairman from June 2017 through June 2018. He, along with the rest of the volunteers on the board of directors, will be charged with guiding FMS along with its almost 1,300 members as it fulfills its mission to enhance the professional development of CFOs, controllers, internal auditors and other financial professionals at community banks, thrifts, and credit unions across North America.

Fusco’s career spans nearly three decades, having served in various financial institutions ranging in asset sizes from $150 million and $40 billion. His current responsibilities at Sussex Bank include leadership of Accounting and Finance as well as operational and risk management areas of the Bank. Prior to joining Sussex Bank in 2010, he was the vice president and treasury manager of investors bank, where he was responsible for managing over $3 billion in financial instruments as well as managing the company’s interest rate and liquidity risk functions.

Fusco also possesses an MBA in Management Information Systems from Saint Peter’s College, Jersey City, New Jersey, and a BS in Finance from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. Fusco is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and a Certified Financial Manager (CFM). Fusco also serves on the Meadowlands Area YMCA Board of Directors since 2016. Fusco is a lifelong resident of Bergen County New Jersey, currently residing in Upper Saddle River New Jersey along with his wife of 22 years and his three daughters.
