Marilyn Ann Maute, 71 years old, died after a long illness at Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover, N.J., on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017. Born to Emil and Myrtle Miller in Paterson, N.J., she had lived in Bronx, N.Y., before moving to the Scenic Lakes section of Hardyston Twp., NJ for the last 43 years.
Marilyn received her AA in Early Childhood Education from Sussex County Community College and taught preschool at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for 14 years and then Tiny Town Preschool in Sparta, N.J., for 12 years before retiring in 2016. She was a former member of the Sussex Women’s Club and was a doting mother and grandmother.
Marilyn is predeceased by her husband of 23 years, Alexander W. Maute (2010) and a brother, Daniel Miller and is the devoted mother of Sheri Brady of Branchville, N.J. Loving grandmother of Erynn and Ashleen Brady of Branchville, N.J. Dear sister of Joan Mackey and her husband, Robert, Sr. of Bangor, Pa., and Emil Miller and his wife, Josephine, of Belmar, N.J. Step mother of Kimberly Covino and her husband, Jimmy and daughter, Nicole of Hicksville, NY and Matthew Maute and his wife, Melissa of Georgia. Cherished Godmother of Beth Kovalcik and family. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, N.J., on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-8:30 p.m. Funeral service will commence at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cremation is private.
