Aug. 21Michael Heresi, 25, of Hopatcong pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime, and cyber harassment, a fourth-degree crime.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 6.
On Aug. 2, 2016, the defendant was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. In pleading guilty, he admitted to being in possession of heroin.  The defendant also admitted to posting an indecent photo of a victim to an online social networking site on April 14, 2016. 
Laurie Banta, 44, of Hewitt pleaded guilty to theft, a third-degree crime.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 6.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to taking jewelry from a Fredon Township home in November, 2012. 
The case was investigated by Tpr. M.A. Braccioforte of the New Jersey State Police and Det. Dean Voris of the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office. 
James Muller, 27, of Hampton pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a third-degree crime, and criminal trespassing, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest, all fourth-degree crimes, and driving under the influence, a motor vehicle offense.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 6.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to taking a Hampton Township resident’s car without permission and driving while intoxicated on Jan. 16, 2017, and to entering a Hampton Township home on Jan. 18, 2017, and causing damage in excess of $500.  He also admitted to fleeing from a Newton Police Officer on April 15, 2017. 
Dana Rost, 27 of Hopatcong, pleaded guilty to fraudulent use of a credit card and theft, both third-degree crimes, and contempt, a fourth-degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for Oct. 6.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to using a stolen credit card to make purchases on April 9, in Hopatcong and Mt. Arlington. She also admitted to taking items from a Hopatcong home on May 6, 2017, and to violating a condition of a Pretrial Release Order on July 18.
The cases were investigated by Sgt. Ryan Tracey, Sgt. James Bianculli, Ptl. Richard Bosland, Ptl. Daniel Kern, and Ptl. James Still of the Hopatcong Police Department.
Aug. 22Robert McMickle, 60, of Sussex was sentenced to two years of probation. McMickle also must complete a mental health evaluation and pay mandatory fines and fees.
McMickle pleaded guilty on July 31, 2017, to one (1) count of contempt, a disorderly persons offense. 
On June 6, 2017, McMickle was arrested for contempt and possession of an imitation firearm.   
Kimberly Baird, 25, of Bedminister pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a crime of the third degree.
Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 29.
The defendant admitted that while a passenger in a vehicle during a motor vehicle stop in Franklin Borough she was in possession of heroin and cocaine.
Aug. 23Kayleigh Haber, 26, of Branchville pleaded guilty to one count of simple assault, a disorderly persons offense and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.
Sentencing is presnetly anticipated for Oct. 6.
Aug. 25Shane Barretto, 38, of Sussex was sentenced to two years of probation and, if compliant, can request early release after 18 months. He was ordered to submit to a mental health evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made, submit to random urine screenings, provide a DNA sample at his own expense, complete 10 hours of community service work and pay fines and fees totaling $155.
He pleaded guilty on June 5, to false reports to law enforcement, a fourth-degree crime. 
On Jan. 1, 2017, the defendant called 9-1-1 to report an assault on him in Sussex. The defendant made up the story.
Joseph Gibney, 33, of Hopatcong was sentenced to three years of probation with two days of jail credit. If compliant, he may seek early release after two years.  He was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made, attend AA/NA meetings twice a week, complete 150 hours of community service work, submit a DNA sample at his own expense, and pay fines and fees totaling $375.
He pleaded guilty on June 19, 2017, to Conspiracy and to two counts of forgery, all third-degree crimes. 
The defendant acted in concert with two other individuals to forge checks and actually cash two stolen checks in Hopatcong.
