Cars bounce around at demolition derby

A demolition derby took place at the Sussex County Fairgrounds also known as the New Jersey State Fair on Sunday, Aug. 6.
The cars were old and ugly but in this kind of competition good looks don't count. What counts is the last car still running when the dust settles.
A sellout crowd cheered their favorite drivers and their raggedy rides inside the muddy arena. Many of the competitors had sponsors and even their own pit crews. Dave Franek Automotive of Wantage, New Jersey, Lafayette Motors of Lafayette, New Jersey and Brodhecker Farm of Newton, New Jersey were among the many local businesses sponsoring drivers.
