Bernard R. 'Barney' Dawson

Bernard R. “Barney” Dawson, 74, died Thursday July 20, 2017, at Andover Subacute and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Dawson, son of the late George and Isabelle (O’Donnal) Dawson was born in Dumont November 12, 1942. He has resided in the Stockholm section of Hardyston Twp. for most of his life.
Mr. Dawson was a master electrician and worked for Merck Pharmaceutical. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War having served on the USS Zelima and was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #1002, Vernon. Mr. Dawson was a Parishioner of St. Jude The Apostle RC Church in Hamburg and also attended Stockholm United Methodist Church with his wife, Liz.
Mr. Dawson was predeceased by his first wife Pauline Dawson and his sons, Christopher and Matthew Dawson. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Hailstones) Dawson; brother, John Dawson & his wife Claire of Rhode Island and his aunt, Ann Dunsten of Sussex.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family on Friday July 28, 2017 from 9-11 a.m. at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home One Main St., Franklin. A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. followed by burial of ashes at Northern N.J. Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sparta.
