The Jefferson Township Museum, also known as the George Chamberlain House, will host an open house on Sunday, Aug. 6, 1 to 4 p.m.
Costumed docents will talk about the Victorian home, and there is a display of ferns throughout the building. Pteridomania is the name for this Victorian Fern Craze. Having live ferns in the home was very popular during the Victorian era. There will also be some examples of “Scherenschnitte” on display — The Victorian art of papercutting.
The Jefferson Township Museum is located at 315 Dover-Milton Road.
