Margaret 'Peggy' Johnson

Margaret “Peggy” Johnson entered into rest at her home in Westtown, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 65.
She was born in Sussex, N.J., on June 26, 1952, to Richard “Dick” and Elizabeth “Betty” Barczak Johnson of Wantage, N.J.
Peggy attended High Point Regional High School, Class of ’71. She went to Orange County Community College and graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 2016 with a degree in environmental sciences.
She worked for Alexander Lynn Hospital in Sussex, N.J., Empire Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Prudential Insurance Company, Caremark Insurance Company, assistant town clerk at the Town of Minisink in Westtown, SUNY Orange and Ramapo College as a research assistant and at her children’s businesses, D’Andrea’s Jewelers in Wantage, N.J., and J. Alexander Jewelers in West Milford, N,J.
Peggy was 15-year member of the American Legion Post 213, Sussex, N.J.; past president of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary; past member of the Hudson Valley Polonaise Society; Garden State Black Powder Association and Lenape Ambulance Corps.
She was avid in genealogy and her family history. She also loved to be outside and gardening.
She is survived by her three children: Andrea L. Randolph, Alexis A. Randolph and John R. Pytleski, all of Unionville. She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Darian, Emily and Adrianna Raub; three siblings: Nancy McCurdy and husband William (Bill) of Sussex, N.J.; Richard Johnson of Sussex, N.J., and John Johnson of Port Jervis; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is predeceased by her loving parents, Richard “Dick” and Elizabeth “Betty” Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route 1, Pine Island.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Clove Cemetery, Sussex, N.J.
